WHAT IS MULTICOLOR FLUORITE? Multicolor Fluorite is a type of crystal composed of calcium fluoride that occurs naturally in a wide range of colors, including colorless, green, blue, purple, pink, orange, yellow, black, and brown. It is relatively soft, limiting its use as a gemstone, but is spectacular when shaped into wands, points, and generators. Rainbow Fluorite is a type of multicolor fluorite with bands of very evident colors. However, it is important to avoid exposing fluorite to direct sunlight for extended periods of time as all fluorite is susceptible to fading, even though some colors fade slower than others.
WHY IT'S AWESOME? Throughout ancient history, fluorite was used as amulets and talismans around the globe. The Chinese have been sculpting fluorite into vessels for over three centuries.
